On a recent visit to South Beach in Miami, Florida I was struck by the sheer number of exotic cars as well as high end luxury cars driving around. It was always intriguing to see just who was driving these expensive cars, and this included a number of Rolls-Royce Phantoms.

If you have never had the pleasure of seeing one of these in real life, it is truly thrilling for a car enthusiast. Depending on where you live you may never get the chance to see one in real life. I have had the opportunity of seeing one of these beautiful machines on 2 occasions. South Beach was a totally different story; Within a few hours I had seen more Rolls-Royce's than ever in my entire life. I was immediately amazed their sheer size as these cars are massive and quite unmistakeable. Priced at almost $500,000 makes them even more of a treat to see. They truly are one of the most luxurious and opulent cars ever made with just about ever option imagineable.

Unless you have an incredible amount of money you will likely never get the chance to own one, but a Diecast Rolls-Royce on the other hand should be well within your reach!

Diecast Limousine

For some strange reason I have always been fascinated by Limousines. Ever since I was a young boy I can recall seeing a strech limo on the road and it made my day. I was so obsessed with them that my favourite toy was a diecast Cadillac Stretch Limo. As I got older the novelty has worn off, simply because I see them on almost a daily basis.

Still, Limousines are beautiful cars and deserve a spot in your diecast collection. Streched Limousines are unique; The basic design starts with a full size car or SUV and a limo company proceeds to cut the vehicle in half and build a large extension in the middle. Dating back to the early 1900's, from the very start they were used to transport the rich and the famous, most notably "Big Band" leaders in the 1920's.

Today it's quite common for people looking to transport a large group in a wedding or funeral to hire a limo and celebrities and other dignitaries have not lost their love for using Limo's. Most often Limo's used by celebrities and by car rental companies are Lincoln Town Car's, Cadillacs and Lincoln Navigators, but other cars like Bentley's, Mercedes, Rolls-Royce's, Hummers and most recently, Chrysler 300's have all been used to create Limousines.

Today the two most notable Limousines are the United States Presidential Limousine and the Limousines used by the British Royal Family.

Diecast Maybach 62

I was fortunate enough to spot a Maybach 62 once driving down the street, but it got away before I could snap a picture with my cell camera. Maybach is a fascinating company that built cars prior to World War I, then ceased production of automobiles for over 50 years, resuming production in 2002.

The Maybach 57 and 62 are an almost identical car, except for the length. The Maybach 62 is the longer of the two and more than likely will be driven by a chaffeur. A variation of the 62 is called the Maybach 62 Laudaulet, which allows the back half of the cars roof to open, exposing the passengers to the sky.

Based on a Mercedes platform, these beautiful cars are positioned to compete directly with the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Complete with separate climate zones, a navigation system, reclining back seats, an option for a privacy screen between driver and passenger and many more luxury appointments. With a huge V12 engine, power is certainly not lacking. Unfortunately if most of us ever wanted to own one of these beautiful cars, we would need to sell our homes and most other possessions and still wouldn't likely have enough - About $400,000 will put a Maybach 62 in your driveway. Time to think about a Diecast Maybach and dream of a real one!
