Diecast Ford Mustang
The Ford Mustang; No other American built car has such a rich history in the United States. First built by Ford in 1964, it was a project that former Chrysler CEO, Lee Iacocca was involved in long before he was employed by Chrysler. When it was first introduced, it went for just over $2,000 and was built with components from the Ford Fairlane and Ford Falcon. Right from the start it was a hit. Ford had projected that they would build 100,000 units per year, but demand required them to build 1,000,000 units in 18 months. Over the years the Ford Mustang has enjoyed a number of design revisions before coming back to a design that was very close to the early Mustang in 2005.
For collectors, a Diecast Ford Mustang is a popular choice. Because there are so many different variations in the Mustang family including: Ford Mustang Shelby, Roush Mustang, Mustang GT and Saleen Editions. Some are factory built, while others are stock Mustangs which have been heavily modified by other companies to create a high powered car.
