Diecast Limousine
For some strange reason I have always been fascinated by Limousines. Ever since I was a young boy I can recall seeing a strech limo on the road and it made my day. I was so obsessed with them that my favourite toy was a diecast
Cadillac Stretch Limo. As I got older the novelty has worn off, simply because I see them on almost a daily basis.
Still, Limousines are beautiful cars and deserve a spot in your diecast collection. Streched Limousines are unique; The basic design starts with a full size car or SUV and a limo company proceeds to cut the vehicle in half and build a large extension in the middle. Dating back to the early 1900's, from the very start they were used to transport the rich and the famous, most notably "Big Band" leaders in the 1920's.
Today it's quite common for people looking to transport a large group in a wedding or funeral to hire a limo and celebrities and other dignitaries have not lost their love for using Limo's. Most often Limo's used by celebrities and by car rental companies are Lincoln Town Car's, Cadillacs and Lincoln Navigators, but other cars like Bentley's, Mercedes, Rolls-Royce's, Hummers and most recently, Chrysler 300's have all been used to create Limousines.
Today the two most notable Limousines are the United States Presidential Limousine and the Limousines used by the British Royal Family.
